TellurideTelluride is either:
- A compound of a metal with the element Tellurium which has approximately the same chemical properties as Sulphur, being in the same series. A compound of hydrogen (or a similar ion) and tellurium is also called a telluride. Like sulphur compounds, tellurium compounds have a strong odour (often described as a garlic odor).
- An ore of gold and silver, similar in appearance to iron pyrite, "Fool's Gold." It is found in small quantities in Colorado, particularly in the Cripple Creek District where it is found as sylvanite and phonolite. Little or none is found near Telluride, Colorado. See also: List of minerals
