Tezpur, Assam

Tezpur, Assam is an ancient town on the northern banks of the river Brahmaputra flowing through the Assam valley. Currently it is the head quarters of the Sonitpur district of Assam.

There are lots of temples and ancient ruins from almost two thousand years ago in this area. The Kaliabhomora Setu is the longest bridge across the river and spans a total of 3.015 meters. It was opened in the mid 80's and had become a tourist attraction by itself.

It has its own airfiled nearby (Salonibari) which is also a major Air Force base in this part of India.
