The Battle of the Somme

The Battle of the Somme was a documentuary film made in 1916, with some staged but mostly real footage of the Battle of the Somme. It was shown to the British public to be a moral booster, but did the opposite. It was quite graphic in showing what was really happening, unlike newspapers which were saying the battle was going well.
