The Toxic AvengerThe Toxic Avenger, released in 1985, was the first movie made by Troma Pictures, known for producing low budget B-movies with campy plot concepts and hilariously bad performances and plots. This particular film became an instant hit (and began a franchise of sequels.) The "plot," a term that loosely applies, is thus: Melvin, a geek who works at a health club, is thrown out the second story window by a bunch of muscle jocks. He lands into a vat of toxic waste and is transformed into an abomination of a gruesome human being; muscular, but with a hideously deformed face. He goes on to fight crime and all types of baddies, and eventually, of course, gets the girl. There are four films in the series. |
