This city has Origin by the Greek, and it becomes quick an important city in the Mediterranean.

Torre del Greco was overtaken by Roman Empire and was called "Torres" (in Latin means new tower). In addition citizen from Torre del Greco are called "Corallini". They are called Corallini because the golf is plant of coral, that why citizen from Naples are called "Corallini".

Torre del Greco has been overtaken by different countries until 1860, when it was the unification of Italy. The major influence of this city, has been from Arabic, Greek and Spanish, that has left tradition and culture of this city.

Torre del Greco is a city rich of music, art and traditional food, witch has dominate in Italy on all aver the worlds.

One of the most important traditions in Italy is "Christmas". Every year people prepare in house and church "Il Presepe". It consist of the creation the birth of Jesus in Bedlam. A there is a competition around the city for the better one.

Other impotyant cities are: Pompeii from Roman Empire, Amalfi Coast and Sorrento. Including a variety of museums, art gallery, and theatres.

The opening of the funicular railway to the Vesuvius was occasion to the writing of the famous song Funiculì Funiculà, one more song in the centuries long tradition of Neapolitan songs. Others Neapolitan songs are also famous outside of Italy, as for example "'O Sole Mio", "Santa Lucia" and "Torna a Surriento".

Another tradition of Torre del Greco is the food. There are so many dish witch become national and international. The most popular are: pizza, pasta, fish stew, ice cream and the traditional food of Torre del Greco, witch is based on meat, fish, vegetarian. In addition there is a good selection of wines, which the most noted are: Lacrima Cristi, Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino.
