Tower Hill

Tower Hill is an elevated spot outside the Tower of London that belongs to the oldest parts of London. From archeological evidence we can conclude that there was a settling on the hill in the bronze age and much later a Roman village that was burnt down during the Boadicea uprising.

All Hallows church is renowned for fragments of Romanesque architecture dating back to 680 AD.

On the hill public executions of high profile criminals was carried out.
Among those executed there are:

Women were generally executed within the confines of the Tower of London rather than on Tower Hill.

It is the site of the Tower Hill Memorial, Tower Gateway DLR station, and Tower Hill tube station.
