Uffington Castle

Uffington Castle is the remains of a late Bronze Age hill-fort in Oxfordshire, England on the Ridgeway, 400 metres North East of Uffington White Horse. It covers about three hectares, and has two earth banks separated by a ditch, and originally had a parapet wall. Excavations indicated that it was probably built in the 7th or 8th century BC and continued to be occupied throughout the Iron Age but was abandoned in the second or 3rd century BC, only to be reoccupied again in the 3rd century during the Roman period.
