University of Ontario Institute of Technology
The University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), located in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada is the country's newest university, which opened in September of 2003, partially to accomodate the "double-cohort". (The double-cohort is the doubling of the province's high school graduating class as a result of the elimination of OAC, or Grade 13.)
UOIT is the first laptop-based learning institution in Canada. The slogan of UOIT is "A brand new university for the 21th century".
