USS Omaha (SSN-692)

USS Omaha (SSN-692) is a Los Angeles class nuclear powered attack submarine laid down by the Electric Boat Division of the General Dynamics Corporation at Groton in Connecticut on 27 January 1973, launched on 21 February 1976 and commissioned on 11 March 1978. USS Omaha was placed in commission in reserve on 7 February 1995, decommissioned and stricken from the Naval Vessel Register on 5 October 1995 and laid up at Bremerton in Washington. She is scheduled to enter the Nuclear Powered Ship and Submarine Recycling Program on 1 October 2007.
