USS Stargazer

The USS Stargazer, NCC 2893, is a starship of the United Federation of Planets in the fictional world of Star Trek: The Next Generation. It is known as the first ship on which Jean-Luc Picard served as an officer, and was later his first command ship.

It was a Constellation-class vessel, similar in some ways to the USS Enterprise commanded by James T. Kirk for many years.

It was in this ship that the Picard maneuver was invented, a clever last-ditch effort to win a battle against the Ferengi. The Stargazer was destroyed in this effort, but the personnel escaped and won the battle.
