Vaccinium is a genus of evergreen shrub plants including the cranberry, blueberry and huckleberry. The genus contains about 450 species, which grow in the cooler areas of the northern hemisphere, as well as in the South American Andes mountains. The plants prefer heath landscapes, as well as light forests.
