Walt Disney Concert Hall

The Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles, California is the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Located on Grand Street, it seats 2,265 people. The Frank Gehry-designed building was opened on October 23, 2003 and features his favorite steel cladding. The whole project was launched in 1987, when the late Lillian Disney, widow of Walt Disney, donated $50 million, which later accumulated to $100 million donated from the Walt Disney family. Total costs were $276 million and were collected from private donors and some Los Angeles County government funds.
