The woodcreepers are a family of passerine bird species found only in tropical South America.

These brownish birds feed mainly on insects taken from tree trunks, and superficially resemble the Old World treecreepers. However, they are not related.

Woodcreepers are forest birds which nest in holes or crevices; 2-3 white eggs are laid, and incubated forabout 15 days.
